This is my second appliquéd quilt with 360 needle-turned berries and blocks set on point. The appliquéd borders have mitered corners and has a flannel backing. For the white background fabric I used Kona Cotton and it was not washed before sewing. It has two purple prints, and a light gray and a dark gray. This was my 5th machine quilted quilt made for Mary (now our daughter-in-law). We gave it to her on her 20th Birthday. It took a year to make and was finished in 1998. The pattern is from "Great American Quilts", by Nancy Smith.
This quilt brought such joy to me, while both working on it, and then seeing it hang at my local guild guilt show (West Michigan Quilt Guild) where it had won Best of Show. I had just joined the guild 1 year before, and this was the first guild show I had entered quilts in.
